The Baghdad Operations Command issued a statement in which it decided to extend the curfew in Baghdad until further notice. The following is the text of the statement.
Further to our statement issued on March 27th, 2008,
and for the purpose of eliminating terrorist groups, outlaws, and criminal gangs, and in order to maintain the lives and property of our dear citizens,
the Baghdad Operations Command has decided to extend the curfew on people, vehicles, and motorcycles in all areas of Baghdad until further notice.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki praised during a meeting with a number of sheiks and tribes of Basra,
praised the significant role of those tribes in supporting the security services to impose security and stability in the governorate.
The prime minister added that the strengthening of that role would contribute significantly to the support of the work of the Iraqi government and its journey to impose the rule of law and build Iraq.
The +tribes, thank God, regained their healthy status and recorded their presence, which was an excellent one and is a page to be recorded in the annals of history that whereby the tribes of Iraq returned after being flouted.
