README.DOC for End-to-end Evaluation Materials

The files in this directory are provided to give background and
specifications for the particular ATIS-2 data collection that was done
to assess the consistency of collection procedures across recording
sites.  Four sites participated in this collection:  BBN, CMU, MIT and
SRI.  The resulting speech and text data have been included in the
published ATIS-2 MADCOW corpus as part of the training partition.  The
table below indicates which speakers from each site were recorded for
this evaluation:

The files in the current directory having the ".ps" extension are
PostScript files that can be output directly to a PostScript-capable
printer.  The file "proposal.ps" describes the rationale and methods
for the End-to-end Evaluation, and the other files contain information
about the instructions and scenarios given to the speakers.  For these
other files, there are plain-text versions providing roughly the same
content.

The directory "sbj_ques.res" contains the answers given by each
speaker to a questionnaire at the end of the recording sessions.  The
text of the questionnaire is in "sbj_ques.txt".
