	       1994 Development Test Hub and Spoke Data
			       02/17/95


This CD-ROM contains speech and text data that have been collected in
accordance with the evaluation test specifications for the November
1994 ARPA CSR Hub and Spoke Benchmark Tests.  These data may be used
for development testing in preparation for implementing the official
Benchmark tests.

With the exception of the Spoke 10 condition, the development test
data were collected in sufficient quantity to make up two sets of Hub
and Spoke trials, each of which would be equivalent to the Benchmark
Tests.  The two development test sets are presented on separate discs.

Only one development set has been provided for the Spoke 10 condition
(car noise), but the 10 speakers sampled in this test have been split
up in this publication, so that there are data for five speakers in
the "s10" directories on each of the two development test discs.  (The
Spoke 10 data is organized primarily by the particular cars used, and
secondarily by the amount of noise imposed on the speech; each disc
has data for five speakers in each of the noise-level directories.)
