README File for the "doc" directory of the CMU KIDS Corpus

This "doc" directory is replicated identically on both CD-ROMS of the
corpus for convenience, and contains the following items:

	0readme.doc	this file

        alignmnt.doc	explains how the time-alignment process was
			carried out to detect word and phone
			boundaries in utterances, and how the
			alignment dictionary was adapted to this
			corpus; explains content and format of label
			files

        kids.doc	explains how the corpus was collected and how
			the data are organized

        tables.doc	explains the content of the various files in
			the tables directory of the corpus

        usr_agrm.txt	content of the User Agreement that covers the
			use of the corpus -- users who have received
			the corpus from the Linguistic Data Consortium
			will have already executed this document prior
			to receiving the CD-ROM set.
